The Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce held its 2018 Holiday Luncheon at the Church of Scientology on Thursday, Dec. 13, which concluded with a friendly White Elephant gift exchange.

Chamber executive director Charley Shore thanked the members who attended, with all proceeds going toward hosting the various community events and awards presented annually.

The chamber is always looking for more members and volunteers, Shore said, with a membership drive slated to start soon. Joining the Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce comes with a reciprocal membership with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Shore said.

The Holiday Luncheon preceded the annual Grand Tree Lighting and Holiday Magic event the chamber hosts on Queen Anne Avenue North. The chamber covers the $22,000 cost to light trees up and down the avenue in the hopes that businesses will later sponsor the trees. Each tree is $225, and the sponsoring business will have  its name illuminated on the tree until February. More information is at queenannechamber.org, or email Shore at info@queenannechamber.org.

Other events hosted by the chamber include after-hours networking, Trick-or-Treat on Queen Anne Ave and the Queen Anne Day Festival, which will have an early start next year.

Shore announced that adults can enjoy live bands and a bar 7-10 p.m. Friday, July 12, with the usual family activities and fun run on Saturday, July 13. Check the Queen Anne News for more details in the new year.
