Seattle Repertory Theatre (155 Mercer St.) has appointed Kristin Leahey as literary director, effective Feb. 23.

Leahey brings a wealth of dramaturgical experience to the Rep following stints in the literary departments at Northlight Theatre in Skokie, Ill., and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, D.C.

She is an artistic associate with Steep Theatre Company and Teatro Vista, both in Chicago.

As a guest artist and scholar, Leahey has been in residence at Indiana University, Weber State University, University of Southern California and Arizona State University. She also has taught at DePaul University, Columbia College, Loyola University Chicago, The University of Chicago, The University of Texas at Austin and Lake Michigan College.

Her publications include works in “Theatre Topics,” “Theatre History,” “Theatre Studies” and the “Routledge Companion to Dramaturgy.”
