Mary Sexton

Seattle, Magnolia, Washington - Mary Louise Sexton waved goodbye to mortal life on July 5, 2023, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle WA to dance toward eternity with a huge smile on her face. She was born in Beaufort, SC on November 15, 1956, as a 1.5 lbs preemie. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy and many other ailments, she pursued her dreams with uncompromising vigor, tireless enthusiasm, and childlike wonder. She graduated from Columbia College with top honors, later earning master's degrees at Emporia State University and Western State University. She traveled the world and loved time with her friends. She was a champion snow skier and loved white water rafting, swimming, scuba diving, and water skiing. Friends fondly recall her pedaling her blue tricycle across the hills of Magnolia, WA, where she lived for the past 40 years. Bruce Hickok Ransom Jr.

Bruce Hickok Ransom Jr. passed away at the age of 74 on June 11, 2023. His wife of 38 years, Sonia, was by his side. In his will, Bruce wrote “I am not looking forward to being dead. It wasn’t my idea. As I am writing this letter, I am missing all of you already.” He had an incredible sense of humor, even in his final days. In letters he left for his family, he wrote “Don’t worry” on the envelope, a testament to his constant love and care. To talk about Bruce is to talk about so many different things- Bruce was a family man, musician, hydroacoustician, car enthusiast, writer, photographer, outdoorsman, and world traveler. He was a meticulous record keeper of his many jobs, performances, hikes, and more. While it would be impossible to share all of his incredible stories, we hope the following does his beautiful life …
