North Queen Anne resident Jean Robinson has been chosen to serve as board president ACLU of Washington. As the state affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union, the nonprofit organization defends and advocates for civil liberties throughout Washington. The ACLU-WA has more than 20,000 members statewide and is the third-largest state branch of the ACLU.
Robinson is owner of the Robinson Co., a cost-estimating and construction management firm specializing in public-sector projects throughout the Northwest.
Robinson has served in several key leadership positions with the ACLU of Washington board over the last decade, having been first vice president, second vice president and treasurer; chairing the Development Committee; and chairing the Budget Committee.
Robinson succeeds attorney Jesse Wing as board president. Wing served as president for the past six years.
